Camp Huronda Washroom Renovation Campaign

On August 25, I attended a magnificent and spirited “shovels in the ground” ceremony for our soon-to-be modern, accessible camper washroom/shower complex. It will be amazing! The fundraising campaign has been lead by the dedicated duo of Terry and Bonnie Jackson, along with their daughter, Joanna, one of our inspiring alumni. So far, one million dollars has been pledged toward the project, with another million dollars required. Anyone interested in donating should visit the fundraising site here.

The event was attended by representatives from Diabetes Canada, many gracious donors, senior manager of D-Camps, Lauren Linklater, Camp Coordinator, Ashley Aubin, and local builders, Greystone Project Management, who will oversee the construction. I was honoured and more than happy to represent alumni at the event.

Thank you to everyone in Huronda land who have donated already, especially those who gave to the Judy Nesbitt tribute dedication. We are close to reaching the goal. Until the next campfire,

Toddy-Boy Lawrence.
